Writer Richard Conlon will be at Esher Civic Centre from Monday to Friday, August 10 to 14, to create a new piece for Elmbridge Choir.

The inspiration for the work, as decided by the choir and Mr Conlon, will be the district itself, with a special emphasis on rivers and the Elmbridge motto, Till the rivers cease to flow.

Musician Roshi Nasehi will combine Mr Conlon’s words with music to create songs for the choir to perform.

Councillor Jan Fuller, portfolio holder for leisure and cultural services, said: “The creative community initiative is giving Elmbridge Choir the unique opportunity to work alongside two great artists, Richard Conlon and Roshi Nasehi to produce a piece bringing life to local history and acting as a wonderful means of expression for the community’s opinions, feelings and memories. All participants will derive a fantastic sense of civic pride and achievement from this project.”
