Friends of Brentford’s best mullet Marcus Akin are pushing for the public to keep their Wolverine where he belongs -in the BB house.

Best mate Helen Green, who met Marcus five years ago and has appeared on spin off show BBLB, said her hairy pal should stay as he is a fantastic housemate with many hidden talents.

Ms Green, who said Marcus has had the same mane since he was 16-years-old, said the 35-year-old is exactly the same on the outside world and hit out against critics who are branding Wolverine disrespectful to women.

She said: “This whole disrespect thing is really annoying me as it’s completely untrue. He’s one of my closest friends and has never acted disrespectfully towards me. I know his other female friends would agree.

“He’s a deeply sensitive guy and would be very upset to be perceived in this way. He just has a slightly puerile sense of humour sometimes and can be a bit cheeky, and this is what the edited show has picked up. Unfortunately, some people have totally over-reacted to this.

“Viewers aren’t getting to see the more serious, caring side of his personality. Besides being a lot of fun to hang around with, he’s a brilliant friend who just can’t do enough for you. Always wanting to help people, whether it be fixing something in the house, sharing his skills, motivating people and encouraging them to fulfil their ambitions.”

Akins, as the long haired lothario is known to his friends, has the largest fan club on Facebook but notched up 290 complaints in one episode after he shouted at Indian housemate Sree.

But the mullet lover fought back against BB and Ms Green said her pal should be applauded.

She said: “Marcus doesn’t panda to anybody, doesn’t play to the camera and would rather stay true to himself. No game plan what-so-ever, he just wants to enjoy the BB experience. He is possibly the first housemate to argue with Big Brother in the diary room too.”

Marcus faces the public vote with posh tof Freddie, Kris, Sophie and Charlie.

But Ms Green revealed Marcus has hidden talents which he is yet to show on camera -apparently the karate fan can speak Japanese and is a talented craftsman.
