Polo-mad princes William and Harry showed off their skills and raised money for charity in a match at Ham Polo Club.

The brothers made up half of Team Umbogo - meaning buffalo in Swahili - who played a fast and furious match against their Texan visitors.

Prince William’s girlfriend Kate Middleton didn’t turn out to watch the event, however, she did cheer her beau on in a separate match at Cirencester Park Polo Club the following day.

Despite the un-seasonal weather, the thrilling contest, last Saturday, ended in a six-six score.

A gentleman’s agreement was reached that both teams would share the winning position and the Charity Trophy was offered by Team Umbogo to club patron Alan Meeker in support of his sponsorship of the match.

The match was held as part of Ham Polo Club’s annual charity event, with funds going this year to the Princes’ chosen charities; HMS Alliance, Centebale, English Schools Swimming Association, Mapaction and Dolen Cymru.
