A 23-year-old was punched in the face in an unprovoked assault on a train.
The man, who suffered a split lip and a loose tooth, was attacked while he travelled on the London Waterloo loop service between Strawberry Hill and Teddington on February 7 at 5.33pm.
He had been resting on pads by the train’s door when his attacker asked him to move out of the way so he could get a better view of the map.
The victim moved but was then punched in the face.
PC Stephen Wesbster, from the British Transport Police crime action team which released details of the attack today, said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack on a man who was just minding his own business, and even moved for his attacker when asked.
"We are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image as he may be able to give us information which could help with our enquiries.”
The attacker is described as having a stocky build, about 183cm tall, with short brown hair.
He was wearing a dark blue jacket and jeans and was travelling with a woman believed to have been his girlfriend.
Anyone with information should call 0800 40 50 40 quoting incident number 409 of 7/02/09.
