A final payment of £62,500 will be made to the former chief executive of West Middlesex Hospital following her resignation over patient waiting times.

The West Mid Hospital NHS Trust last week refused a Freedom of Information request by the Hounslow and Brentford Times asking for information on whether a pay-off had been made to Tara Donnelly.

However, a spokeswoman for the trust confirmed Ms Donnelly would not be receiving any further cash except that which she is contractually entitled to.

She said: “Tara’s contract of employment is standard for the NHS at chief executive level and provides for six months’ notice. As the chief executive’s annual salary for 2008/09 was £125,000 this equates to a sum of £62,500.

“I would emphasise no pay-off has been made over and above this minimum contractual entitlement and nor has Tara requested one.”

Ms Donnelly resigned in February after it emerged eight patients were left waiting more than 12 hours for beds.
