A HESTON company has made a donation of £350 to Ashford Hospital this week.

Enterprise Cars is an international rent-a-car company and part of the company’s policy is to have a certain amount of money going into a special fund called the Enterprise Fund.

This fund is used to give charitable donations to the local community. Enterprise of Heston has chosen to give £350 to Ashford Hospital to help to regenerate two of the hospital’s courtyard gardens.

As well as the donation of money, the company also donated the time of nine of its staff, when they came to Ashford for three hours one Saturday morning to clear the proposed courtyards of weeds.

This was not a light job as one of the courtyards more resembled a jungle than a garden!

The work on the new courtyard gardens will begin soon, and plans have already been drawn up for the layout and planting. It is hoped that the Trust’s staff will be able to use the new outside areas as an extension to the work place, and somewhere to relax, at lunch time.

Nigel Watson, Enterprise’s Loss Control Manager-South East England said: "Enterprise Rent-A-Car, through the Foundation and the time of our staff, were delighted to help Ashford Hospital which serves many of our employees who work at our administrative offices in Hounslow . It is always nice to give a little back to the communities that support our company."

Ashford Hospital Director, Mark Jennings said: "The gardens are an area that we could easily forget but I feel we need to remember and maintain them as they are a very important part of our hospital."
