St John’s Hospital medical officer’s report: During the month 11 inpatients had been admitted, 16 cases of accident and emergency, 11 inpatients were discharged after being under treatment for periods ranging from three days to 103 days each. The other cases had been under treatment from 1 day to 33 days each. Among the receipts of this month was the sum of £4 11s sent by Miss Eva Austin.

The Pleasure Grounds Committee recommended that three seats be placed at the back of the public footpath in Richmond roadside next to Marble Hill. But Mr Hosking said these seats should not be open to vagrants, the latter carry disease about with them and it was very undesirable that seats should be taken up like he had seen them on Richmond Hill.

A rather amusing incident occurred on Richmond Green on Wednesday, in the match between Richmond Milkmen and the District Railway. One of the latter team hit a ball, but in doing so his bat slipped out of his hand and went flying through the air for 20 yards. The batsmen, instead of running between the wickets for the hit without the bat, to the astonishment and subsequent amusement of onlookers sprinted to his bat, picked it up and then endeavoured to get back to his wicket but the ball got there first and he was out.
