Guide dog owner accused of beating shopkeeper

Shopkeepers in a secluded Richmond parade are staying tight lipped over allegations that a partially sighted woman viciously beat another woman for stroking her guide dog.

Richmond police confirmed that an incident took place in Paved Court, on Wednesday, October 8, but would not give details because no arrest was made and there was an ongoing investigation.

The Richmond and Twickenham Times was contacted by Raymond Russell who told how two riot vans caught up with two women and their guide dogs after an accusation that a woman with a guide dog had beaten a shopkeeper with flaying fists after she patted her canine companion.

The shopkeeper told Mr Russell: “She may be partially sighted, but she had no problem giving me a black eye and several bruises.

“She was shouting and screaming in the street and the guide dog looked very stressed, so I went over and stroked him, within seconds the woman started swearing in French and pounded my face with her fist.”
