Sir – As a disabled pensioner and full-time carer I can think of better things to do every Sunday evening than preparing for Monday morning collections and sorting of papers/bottles etc, but I go to great lengths to ensure it is all presented properly.
I notice many others in my road leave a mixed box of unwashed milk bottles, tins etc.
So why does that get sorted and collected when I find on a weekly basis that something is not taken?
This week it was the bottles, which means I must struggle to drag the box back and put it out again.
The waste for compost is always attended to - it is just the paper or bottles which are left.
I did ring the council number but hung on for 45 minutes (I did time it) and then got cut off.
Trying to do the right thing costs me money I can ill afford.
