Sir - Serge Lourie’s letter Attempting to be an MP (RTT, September 26) mentions School Food Matters, an organisation I set up with Zac Goldsmith in June last year.
Coun Lourie says, "I tried to find out if the ‘charity’ was registered with the Charity Commission - and found that it was not."
Serge Lourie did email School Food Matters on August 26. In my reply dated September 4, I thanked the councillor for his interest and stated that: "School Food Matters is a charitable company limited by guarantee. We are a not-forprofit organisation and our company number is 06657048."
School Food Matters is a hugely valuable campaign and has already been nominated for prestigious awards.
One of the reasons it has proved successful is that it enjoys cross-party support from among others, Susan Kramer MP, Ken Livingstone, James Page of the Green Party and London Mayor Boris Johnson.
I urge readers to visit the website schoolfoodmatters.
com to see how they can be involved.
