Sir – I have been a resident in the borough most of my 43 years and what I cannot understand is the amount of forms and correspondence that plummets through my letterbox.
Every time I make an enquiry I receive a form.
Whatever happened to the age of computer technology? It seems to me that the people using the mainframes and databases are not qualified to use them to their usefulness.
These people are paid extremely well out of the public purse so why are they not proficient on their computers – the tools of their trade?
Every time I make an enquiry I am told they do not have a record of it, even though I sent a letter with the appropriate photocopies the week before.
It does not make sense to me that they have all the technology at their fingertips yet are not able to put it into use.
Instead of accumulating paper why do they not use discs to store everything? This is supposed to be the age of recycling after all.
