A TOUCH of South African magic is coming to Lewisham for the start of festivities celebrating the Rainbow Nation.
A week-long programme of events in the borough gets underway at the Lewisham Shopping Centre on May 19, with local school children singing the country's national anthem. A dance performance from students working with the Soweto Dance Theatre is also planned, along with an appearance by the Mighty Zulu Nation.
South African High Commissioner Cheryl Carolus will also be present for the launch. It is part of Celebrate South Africa, a six-week arts, culture and technology festival taking place across London until the end of May.
