The spread of lap dancing clubs could be slowed if new laws get the go ahead.

Twickenham MP Vincent Cable has sponsored a Bill to tighten licensing anomalies that treat sex clubs are as cafés.

It will give councils control over where these clubs are in residential areas.

Dr Cable said: "The Bill is not trying to ban sex clubs but to allow residents a meaningful say in where they should be sited.

"Residents of Twickenham will be familiar with the controversies around the club in Cross Deep.

"As the law stands such establishments could set up in any residential area and if the council appeal then the owners could mount a successful legal challenge."

With the new laws assuring equality regarding age, sex, etc etc. does this mean that there will be men lap dancers, even men on zimmer frames? Surely what's good for the goose is good for the gander!
