Hounslow police have pledged to do all they can to protect residents and visitors to Hounslow from antisocial behaviour.

Two homeless people with a history of threatening behaviour in Hounslow town centre have been served with antisocial behaviour orders (Asbos) in recent months.

Last Wednesday a three-year Asbo came into force on 39-year-old Donna Mason on the day she left prison.

She was sentenced to four-and-a-half months for assaulting a sales assistant in Woolworths in the Treaty Centre, and attempting to steal a sleeping bag.

She was barred from entering all pedestrianised areas of Hounslow High Street, including the Treaty Centre.

Kes Verma, 53, was also given a three-year Asbo by Feltham magistrates after he was found guilty of being drunk and abusive to passersby.

He was ordered not to commit acts of antisocial, abusive, drunken or violent behaviour anywhere in the borough, and not to enter any shop or petrol station without money Mason is also well-known to staff at the Treaty Centre for drinking, stealing and abusing passersby.

Inspector Manpreet Bains of Hounslow police said they would continue to work with social services to help Mason and Verma deal with their issues.

He added: "However, we will also do all we can to enforce the order to protect the residents and visitors to Hounslow from any antisocial behaviour.

"If members of the public have any information regarding any breaches of the Asbos, they are advised to call police on 020 8577 1212."
