The planned 48-hour strike by Tube maintenance workers has been formally called off.
The RMT union said it had abandoned the strike planned for next Monday, April 28, after Tube bosses gave 2,500 workers from a failed maintenance contractor Metronet guarantees about pensions and travel provisions.
Union general secretary Bob Crow hinted over the weekend that an agreement would be reached, which the RMT has since confirmed.
Metronet, which was responsible for maintaining the District Line among others, went in to administration last July after an estimated £2billion overspend.
Transport for London said it had given the union written assurances the former Metronet workers would be given TfL pension and travel benefits when it takes over the maintenance contract.
