Hundreds of people took part in the 10th annual Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan (procession) in Hounslow on Sunday to mark a unique event in Sikh history.
The ceremony, organised by the Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Alice Way, Hounslow, assisted by members of the Gurdwara Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha in Martindale Road, Hounslow, began in Alice Road with ceremonies inside and outside the gurdawara.
The procession, complete with floats, then made its way to Martindale Road.
Colourful saris and traditional Sikh dress were donned and people gave out free refreshments along the route to those taking part.
Roads were closed and traffic was diverted to let the procession wind its way through the town.
