There is nothing the music Press likes more than rumours of disputes between band members, threats of break-ups or on-stage dust-ups.
The newspaper coverage of the latest Spice Girls' split showed, for example, that when it comes to column inches, calamity is king.
But journo vultures circling Kettering four-piece Sukie looking for a similar story are likely to be disappointed, as guitarist/vocalist James Bagshaw explains: "I think the reason we are doing so well is we all work together - there is no weak member. There are no ego problems, everyone just wants to make good music."
Sukie, who comprise James, vocalist Adam Branaghan, bassist Andrew Barr and drummer Josh Ambler, have been gigging and writing since joining forces at high school.
And James has definitive thoughts on their style and musical aims.
He says: "We are trying to take indie pop to a new level. We have been typecast as indie swing and have no problem with that. There's a bit of jazz and a classic feel."
The band hope to make their mark on the nation's psyche when they release their as-yet unnamed debut single in May.
And, with contract offers flooding in from as far away as Japan, it is exciting times for the boys.
James says: "We are getting good reactions at gigs and everything is progressing nicely.
"We did a gig recently and, afterwards, the bar owner said, I don't really like music but I liked your stuff - here's some beer tokens'.
"That's when you know things are going well - when you start getting free stuff!"
