Social media users were quick to react earlier after Southeastern tweeted the bizarre reason why a train was running late.
The company said the train from Bromley South to Victoria was late departing because of βthe driver becoming locked in the on board toiletβ.
They then apologised for the delay and used a GIF showing Lisa Simpson demanding someone open the door.
Tweets then quickly flooded in after the witty announcement although presumably those on board were not too impressed.
Some mocked Southeastern by labelling it as "fake news" because βthere is no way the toilet would have been working in the first placeβ.
Here are the best of the reactions:

πππ I'd be annoyed if I was on this train but as an innocent bystander on twitter, this had cracked me up.

The toilet will now be out of service for a fortnight whilst engineers from network rail try to fix a broken door unsuccessfully
