Grass 'the size of three football pitches' has been damaged by a fire near Twickenham amid a huge heatwave across the UK.
More than 20 firefighters rushed to the scene in Water Mill Way at around 2.45pm today, according to a London Fire Brigade spokesman.
Crews from Feltham, Heston, and Twickenham fire stations attended the incident today on June 26, while the blaze was under control shortly before 4pm.

While the cause of the fire is currently unknown, a fire brigade spokesman warned that there could be more grass fires over the coming days due to the heatwave that has hit London this week.
The Met Office has warned that temperatures could reach as high as 32C in some parts of the United Kingdom.

That’s on par with Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, and hotter than Athens in Greece.
Chief meteorologist Frank Saunders said: “Some places in England will very likely top 30 Celsius – it’s not unlikely somewhere could reach 32 Celsius.
“With almost wall-to-wall sunshine, we’ll certainly be looking at conditions which many of us would call a heatwave.”
Yesterday saw temperatures soar to 29.4C, making it the hottest day in 2018 so far.
