Residents will be able to test drive a number of electric vehicles at Richmond Athletic Grounds.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 21 and is hosted by Octopus Electric Vehicles. People can book a test drive, which will take place on June 23.

People will have a chance to test drive an electric BMW, Nissan, Renault and Tesla. There will be a team of experts to help people choose the right vehicle for them.

Octopus Electric Vehicles CEO, Fiona Howarth, said: ““We are giving Richmond residents the chance to book a test drive in our handpicked selection of electric cars. We will also be on hand to answer any questions on what it is really like to live with an electric vehicle, and help source the best deals”

According to the Royal College of Physicians, there are 40,000 deaths in the UK from air pollution with parts of London breaking the legal limit for nitrogen dioxide this year.

The event at Richmond Athletic Grounds takes place on clean air day. Chris Large, senior partner at Global Action Plan said: “Conventional cars and vans, especially diesel, are major contributors to our air pollution problem.

“As well as more walking, cycling and use of public transport, we see electric vehicles as part of the solution. We need innovative solutions to help the public make low pollution and healthier choices about how they choose to travel.”
