Richmond residents are invited to give feedback on proposals to set up a fenced-off dog free space in Westerly Ware.

Residents can give their views by completing an online survey or request a paper copy of the by emailing consultation@richmond.gov.uk

The proposals came after some users said the presence of dogs impacted on their enjoyment of the park.

The plans would create a space at the northern end of the park for people to sit and picnic and have access to the playground leaving the rest of the park free for dog-walkers.

Cllr Martin Elengorn, cabinet member for environment, planning and sustainability said: “We are seeking your views on proposals to install a wooden fence on a three-month trial basis over summer.

“We know the park is used for all types of activities and we want to ensure everyone can enjoy the open space.

“If the trial goes ahead a second consultation will follow to decide whether a permanent fence would be installed.”
