Seven community organisations have been awarded money by The Harlequins Foundation as part of its new Brighter Futures local grants programme.
Local charities and organisations located within a five mile radius of either Harlequins’ stadium - Twickenham Stoop – or training ground - Surrey Sports Park - were invited to apply for grants between £500 and £3,000.
The successful applicants were: Off the Record, Emerge Advocacy, Me Too & Co, Feltham Girls’ Group, Action-Attainment Ltd, Home-Start and Knights Basketball Academy.
Marc Leckie, Harlequins head of foundation, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer support to these special organisations through our Brighter Futures local grants programme.
"Each and every organisation that we are supporting is delivering such a positive impact in their respective communities and we hope that the money provided will enable them to continue that great work.
“Since its establishment in 2015, The Harlequins Foundation has worked tirelessly to make a real difference to the lives of people within the local community.
"We hope that, through the provision of these grants, the seven recipient organisations will be able to continue delivering projects that work to create more sustainable communities, and better opportunities for the young people at the heart of them.”
The money awarded by The Harlequins Foundation to the organisations is supported by fundraising from debenture holders and members of the rugby club.
