The Queen's birthday will be celebrated with a royal-inspired party at a Richmond care home - and local people are invited to come along.

Greville House, on Greville Road, will open its doors for a free family-friendly event this Friday April 20, from 10am-4pm.

Donning homemade crowns, guests can look forward to performances from Victorian and Edwardian singing troupe, the Bold Balladiers, and a performance of songs and poetry from schoolchildren.

Vivian Epie, home manager at Greville House, said: “We’ve already had a brilliant start to the year at Greville House, and our Care Home Open Day celebrations are set to be a real highlight.

"The day is all about enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the community, so what better excuse to invite the people of Richmond to the home than to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.

“The residents are looking forward to decorating the home fit for a queen, and we cannot wait to open our doors for this royal celebration.”

There will also be traditional games and activities for visitors to take part in and delicious snacks and refreshments, including a chocolate fountain and ice cream stall.
