Romance was in the air in Richmond town centre this Valentine’s Day as Cupid-themed entertainers wooed visitors.

The actors, sponsored by Be Richmond, provided heart-shaped treats and took selfies with delighted and surprised shoppers.

Sophie and Amilynn McGrath from Chiswick joined in the fun.

“It’s a really great idea,” said their father, Tam McGrath.

Leif, shopping with his daughter Cid, said: “This is superb, it’s a really cool idea.”

Mrs and Mrs Richardson, posing with Cupids in the gallery above, have been married for more than 60 years.

Erick Kervaon, Be Richmond Chairman, said: “Valentine’s is an important trading day for the many retail and hospitality businesses in Richmond.

“We were delighted bring some ‘love’ to the town centre and thank residents, workers and visitors for choosing Richmond, which given its beautiful riverside setting, is a very romantic location.”
