Richmond Police came to the aid of a man whose campervan was “hanging over the edge” of The Embankment in Twickenham on Saturday (November 4).
At around midday a “concerned member of the public” rang the police after seeing the vehicle teetering dangerously.
A spokesman for Richmond police said: “We arrived and a male was in the campervan having slept there overnight.
“The gentlemen was not local and it is believed a high tide pulled the vehicle to the edge.
“Due to the size of the vehicle London Fire Brigade assisted in towing the vehicle off the edge and moved into a parking bay and the driver given words of advice re parking and flooding warnings.
“The driver wasn't aware until he was woken by us.”
