There will be free personal training sessions on offer at the outdoor fitness gym at Palewell Common in East Sheen over the next month.

Participants will be shown how to use equipment well and safely.

The aim of the sessions, which will take place every Wednesday at 10am for four weeks, is to encourage residents to use equipment as part of a regular exercise routine.

The council, who have been liaising with Age UK and the Friends of Palewell Common, would like to encourage older users to take part in the sessions.

A maximum of 12 places are available per session and will be offered on a first come first served basis.

The sessions will take place on:

• Wednesday 27 September at 10am

• Wednesday 4 October at 10am

• Wednesday 11 October at 10am

• Wednesday 18 October at 10am

To register your interest in one of these sessions, please contact Kapil Lakhani: klakhani@richmond.gov.uk.

Councillor Pamela Fleming, cabinet member for environment, business and community said: “This is another great chance to take advantage of the continuing good weather and get active in one of our beautiful parks.

“Whilst we have some of the fittest and healthiest residents in the country there are some of us who may be put off exercising because they aren’t familiar with the equipment or know the best techniques to improve their fitness.

“That’s why these sessions are so popular.

“They give people a chance to come along with their friends and family and get a taste for exercising in the fresh air.”
