A law firm in the borough has scooped nominations in three different categories for the annual Law Society Excellence Awards.

Moore Blatch, with a firm office on The Green in Richmond, topped a record number of entries to be shortlisted for the Excellence in Client Service Award with two individuals also receiving nominations for Solicitor of the Year.

Damian Horan, leading catastrophic injury lawyer and Fiona Heald, head of the Court of Protection team have been entered for the individual award after being recognised for their outstanding contribution in private practice.

David Thompson, managing partner, Moore Blatch, said: β€œTo receive three nominations is an achievement indeed, and a reflection of our mission to consistently go the extra mile, putting our clients at the heart of all we do.”

Mr Horan, who specialises in spinal cord injuries, severe head injuries and fatalities, has played a pioneering role in establishing charity partnerships including founding Aspire Law, a joint venture between spinal injury charity, Aspire, and Moore Blatch.

Ms Heald is renowned for championing the rights of the elderly by ensuring those looking after and caring for the elderly do so in their best interests as well as by holding government organisations to account, helping to give the elderly a voice.

The Moore Blatch Major Trauma service, one of the only major trauma teams in the UK to provide comprehensive legal support, has also been recognised for excellent client service after demonstrating commitment and service in customer care.

The awards ceremony will be held on October 19 at Hilton Park Lane Hotel, London.
