More than £1,100 was raised at a charity tea party with the Mayor of Richmond and the naked ladies of York House.

Around 40 guests were in attendance as the new mayor’s first charity event on Monday (July 24), including fellow mayors from across the capital.

Many enjoyed the afternoon tea on the Terrace at York House.

With this, attendees also took part in a tour of the building, gardens and the famous Naked Lady fountains with guidance from the York House Society.

The money raised from the event will now go to the mayor’s selected charities – Off the Record, Me Too and Cavernoma Alliance UK.

Councillor Lisa Blakemore said: “What a lovely afternoon! Over 40 guests attended, including a number of mayors from across the capital. Many of which have never been to York House before.

“They enjoyed tea and bubbles, followed by a first class tour around the historic building, gardens and fountains.

“But most importantly, we were able to raise over £1,100 for my three charities. I look forward to organising many more events over the next few months to raise even more.”
