There is no business like showbusiness for the actress who celebrated her 100th birthday at the borough's retirement home for entertainers.
Emily Perry, best known for her role as Dame Edna Everage's long-suffering bridesmaid Madge Allsop, reached the age of 100 on June 28.
Emily operated a children's dance studio, The Patricia Perry Academy of Dancing, for 25 years and also guest-starred in TV sitcom Last of the Summer Wine in 1995.
She retired in 2004 and is a resident of Brinsworth House, Twickenham, where she hosted her birthday celebrations along with 40 friends and family members.
Barry Humphries, the man behind Dame Edna - the purple-haired housewife from Melbourne, telephoned Emily on her special day to wish her well.
