The Brentford and Hounslow Stop Heathrow Expansion pressure group has invited residents from neighbouring Richmond to attend two meetings this month.

From February: Government accused of hiding facts in Heathrow third runway consultation booklet

A Government consultation event will be Isleworth Public Hall, in South Street, will take place Wednesday, March 15 between 11am and 8pm.

The Brentford and Hounslow Stop Heathrow Expansion group will also host its own public meeting at Brentford Free Church, in Boston Manor Road, on Tuesday, March 21 between 7.30pm and 9pm.

Brentford and Isleworth MP Ruth Cadbury encouraged residents to attend their exhibition and come to the community meeting to add their voices to the debate.

She said: “People need to know how much noisier their area will be if the third runway does go ahead, how much more traffic there will be and what Heathrow is offering in terms of noise insulation and other forms of relief.

“The consultation forms are opaque and seem to be deliberately drafted to be difficult to answer unless you think a third runway is the best thing ever. Yet local residents have a voice and should use it.”

Richmond’s own consultation day will take place tomorrow (March 10) between 11am and 8pm at Richmond Adult Community College in Parkshot.

When the consultation documents were released they were dismissed as a "farce" by Richmond Council leader Lord True and Zac Goldsmith.

The consultation document can be found here and the response form here.

Residents can get copies of the Government documents by calling 0800 6894968. They can also send their views to the Department for Transport directly, to runwayconsultation@dft.gsi.gov.uk.
