A teenage male will appear in court charged with robbing and raping a woman in a Twickenham subway.

The woman reported having been attacked at knifepoint on June 18 at around 10.30pm, after walking through the subway which runs under the A316 between Jubilee Avenue and Meadway, Twickenham.

The woman had been at the Halifax cash point in High Street Whitton after walking from Hounslow train station.

Michael Sidwell, 19, of Summerwood Road, Isleworth, was arrested in connection with the attack on June 23 and was remanded in custody by Richmond Magistrates' Court on June 25.

He will appear at Kingston Crown Court on September 6.
