Afternoon tea was served to three talented primary school children at York House to celebrate their victorious design entries in this year's Mayor's Christmas card competition.

The children joined Richmond's Mayor, Councillor David Linnette, in the Mayor's parlour on Wednesday to celebrate their achievements.

Talented artists Ava Holt, nine, from Orleans Primary School, Aliyyah Ahsan, six, from Buckingham Primary School and Flora Arp, seven, from Kew Riverside Primary School, had their winning designs selected from more than 200 entries from across the borough.

The children have had have their designs produced into actual cards which will be the official Mayor's Christmas cards for this year.

The theme of the competition was 'Christmas in Richmond'.

Richmond Mayor, Cllr Linnette, said: "All children who entered this year's Mayor's Christmas card competition are winners in my eyes - choosing three from more than 200 entries was incredibly hard.

“It was a real privilege to welcome the children to the grounds of York House where we enjoyed a chat over afternoon tea."
