A Twickenham teenager has won a work experience placement at a top law firm after impressing during a visit.

Laura Marshall-Clerk, 16, who goes to Hampton High, was offered her a placement by 300-year-old law firm Taylor Wessing on her visit.

The Year 11 pupil dazzled bosses at the international firm with her proving questions and enthusiasm, her school said.

Ms Marshall-Clerk said she was 'over the moon' when she was offered the placement.

She said: "It was a real surprise.

"We just went there to visit and look around.

"I find it really interesting though so was asking lots of questions.

"I couldn't believe it. In really looking forward to it now."

Deputy headteacher Oliver Wells said: "As a school we couldn't be more proud of Laura and the way she has seized this wonderful opportunity.

"These are the important moments in life when you see a chance and you take it.

"Laura has shown that you have the right attitude your life can take you into an unexpected directions."

The visit was part of a series of school trips to large organisations as part of the school's 'unlock your potential' programme.
