Zac Goldsmith opened a ‘diverse and imaginative’ art exhibition at an East Sheen school this week.
The Richmond Park MP was on hand as Richmond Park Academy’s Cafe Walls exhibition opened in Barnes’ Old Sorting Office Art Centre (OSO) on Monday, July 18.
Mr Goldsmith is well-acquainted with the school, having opened it as a newly-created academy back in 2010, and has since opened many art exhibitions.
He praised the work of art teacher Maureen Cronin, and said the students whose work was exhibited should be ‘very proud’.
He said: “I was thrilled to be invited to open the exhibition, and strongly agree with Ms Cronin that this year’s work is better than ever.
“I know how much hard work that these students have put in over many months, and they should be very proud of what they have accomplished.
“The artwork is truly inspiring and Ms Cronin deserves huge credit for helping to get the best out of her students.”
The Cafe Walls exhibition, which features Year 11 students’ GCSE exam artwork, will run until Saturday, July 30.
