Battersea residents are petitioning the council to re-install floodlighting on Wandsworth Bridge.
The bridge illuminations were damaged by a barge in 2014, and although ideas for their replacement have been discussed there is nothing is the pipeline.
Last week Sadiq Khan, the Mayor Of London, announced a 20 million pound investment to fund the illumination of 17 bridges along the River Thames but Wandsworth Bridge isn't included in the scheme.
The petition dismisses the bridge’s 'ugly duckling' reputations stating that it "has history and character and adds to the riverscape, especially in the hours of darkness."
The Petition closes on August 10 and can be found at https://democracy.wandsworth.gov.uk/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx?id=8
