A man suffered smoke inhalation and had to be rescued by firefighters from a room on fire in a mental health unit at West Middlesex Hospital.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters rushed to the residential unit at the Isleworth hospital just before 5pm on Sunday, June 19.
A London Fire Brigade (LFB) spokesman said: “There was a serious fire in one of the rooms and someone got injured.
“The person was rescued by firefighters using breathing apparatus.”
After being rescued from the first-floor room, the man was taken to hospital.
Around 60 patients and staff members had to be evacuated before fire brigades from Twickenham, Heston and Willesden arrived.
Fire crews had the blaze under control by just after 6pm, LFB said.
