A revised “less bulky” version of Francis Terry’s proposal for Twickenham Riverside is to be published in the summer, according to councillors.

"Twickenham Riverside plans should be scrapped completely," according to campaigners at St Mary's Church Hall meeting

Councillor for Twickenham Riverside Helen Hill said the adjusted plans would be based on feedback following consultations.

She said: “I do know the scale of the building is going to be reduced. I do know it is not going to be as bulky.”

The modified proposals are expected to be released publicly in July. Quinlan Francis Terry’s initial proposal won a competition run by the council in which £5,000 was paid to the competing architects to draft plans that included creating a town square on King Street and providing the opportunity for residential and commercial space.

A member of staff at Quinlan Francis Terry said that the group could not comment on the proposals at this stage.
