A Twickenham pub is appealing for urgent donations for its resident kitten to have life-saving surgery after being seriously injured on Wednesday night.
Alice needs people to donate to cover his vet bill
Alice, who lives at The Sussex Arms, suffered a fractured back leg and broken pelvis after what could have been either a fox attack or being hit by a car.
Staff at the Staines Road pub say the vet bill is approaching £4,000 and that it is vital Alice is operated on soon.
Assistant manager Katie Ward said: “We got him last summer as a little pub kitten – he really is the life and soul of the pub.

“We called him in last night as usual but he was dragging himself to the door.
“The vet told us it could cost £3,000 but, with another couple of nights, we are now looking at closer to £4,000 – we really need people to help us.”
Miss Ward added that she has put in “most of her inheritance” to try to cover the vet bill.
