Hampton’s YMCA will open a foodbank by Christmas for those in need of emergency food on December 11.
The youth centre, in the Avenue next to Hampton Square, will be the fourth foodbank of its type to open in Richmond and will provide people with food from Tuesdays 9.30am–12.30pm and Wednesdays 2–5pm.
Twickenham MP Tania Mathias will open the foodbank at 12pm donations of non-perishable items that fit a nutritional diet are welcomed.
Donations can be handed in at the centre or at one of the supported locations: Hampton Pool, St Mary’s School, All Saints Church and local churches.
