Africa's most dangerous animal has been spotted swimming through the mist in Bushy Park's boating pond.

The hippopotamus, typically native to sub-Saharan Africa, is fast becoming Teddington's answer to the Loch Ness monster, having been spotted floating through the pond on several occasions.

FROM APRIL 2015: Hippo spotted floating in Bushy Park pond

The creature was photographed by Susan Lindenberg and Julie Hill on Sunday morning and park manager Ray Brodie said the mysterious beast was something he had heard of but is yet to see in person.

Mr Brodie said: "I’m sure it’s an amusing and somewhat surprising sight for others using the model boating pond in the park.”
