Robert Crawford, designer at Callaghan Interiors, said: "I came in at about 10am and the police had secured it with these boards.

"The driver of the van must have been terrified."

He added: "It's just a matter of time before someone standing there on that junction gets killed."

Rosie O'Callaghan, the daughter of the shop's proprietor, said: "It's the second time this has happened in just over a year - last time was February 2014.

"This junction is a nightmare.

"The driver was upside down in the van in the shop.

"He's okay now and said he's coming back in for a cup of tea.

"The damage will be covered by insurance but they will probably whack our premiums up because it's happened before."

The building's owner, Cliff Hamilton, estimated at least £15,000 worth of damage was caused.
