A dead body has been found hanging from a bridge in "unexplained" circumstances above the A316 this morning.

The man, in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene on the North Sheen/Kew border, close to Richmond fire station.
Police were called to the footbridge, used by primary school children and parents walking to Darrell Primary School, at 6.48am.
The circumstances of his death are currently "unexplained", according to a Metropolitan Police spokesman.
London Fire Brigade also attended the tragic incident.
A London Ambulance spokesman said: "We were called at 6.46am to reports of an incident at an address on Lower Richmond Road.
"We sent a number of resources to the scene, including our hazardous area response team, an incident response officer and an ambulance crew.
"Sadly, a person was dead at the scene."
Mortlake and Barnes Councillor Paul Avon said: "I'm shocked, it is desperately sad and horrible news."

The man's next of kin has been informed and police enquiries continue.
