A woman from Twickenham will represent south west London in the UK finals of the Miss Earth competition.
Katrina Kendall, 25, was selected out of hundreds of applicants to win a place in the Finals on August 29.
If victorious, she will represent the country in the international Finals in Vienna this December.
Miss Earth is an annual international beauty pageant that sports the tagline "Beauties for a Cause” and promotes environmental awareness.
Miss Kendall attended Tiffin Girl's School and has first class master’s degree in chemistry from The University of Edinburgh.
Ms Kendall said: “The world currently faces massive environmental challenges. I want to empower other people to make change through education and by raising environmental awareness.
“This is a great platform to inspire change and exactly why I decided to enter.”
