A teenage thief who committed 10 burglaries across London and the Thames Valley area has been jailed for more than three years.

Marcelo Guzman-Robinson, 19, burgled a property in Denbigh Gardens, Twickenham, on March 7, and properties in Hammersmith, Berkshire, SW6 and W4 during a six-week spree between January 28 and March 13 2014 having just entered the country.

The Chilean national, who has no fixed abode, stole jewellery, computer equipment, cash and a Rolex watch during the burglaries.

Guzman-Robinson was charged on December 23 and pleaded guilty on April 22. He was sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on May 6 to three years and four months imprisonment.

Detective Constable Gary Smith from Richmond CID said Guzman-Robinson would even target properties with burglar alarms, simply ripping them from the wall, but left fingerprints and DNA at a number of crime scenes.

He said: "He was linked to the offences by a combination of forensic evidence at the scene of three of the burglaries and mobile phone data analysis."

Det Con Smith said: "He was linked to the offences by a combination of forensic evidence at the scene of three of the burglaries and mobile phone data analysis.

"Guzman-Robinson would travel across London and the Home Counties looking to target homes in order to commit burglary. At least residents can rest assured that he will be off the streets for some time and when he is released from prison he will be removed from the country."

Two offences of burglary, on February 13 in Berkshire and March 12 in Cassilis Road, Twickenham, were left to lie on file.
