A man was fined for possession of a class B drug during a community action day in Richmond.
The event on Thursday, February 19, allowed people who work and live in the borough to talk to police on the streets and officers shared what the work they are doing to tackle crime.
Street briefings and drop-in surgeries took place across the borough throughout the day and officers from the Twickenham Riverside neighbourhood police team executed a warrant after being informed about drug use at a property.
After a search, police found a quantity of herbal cannabis and a 48-year-old man was issued with an on the spot fine for possession of a class B drug.
Inspector Simon Young said: “The community action day is a great way of strengthening relationships not only with our residents but those who visit and work in Richmond.
“We are committed to working with our communities and strengthening relationships to ensure that we continue to engage with people of all ages and backgrounds to talk about issues that matter to them.”
