Emergency repairs to a collapsed man-hole cover have been causing chaos on the A306 Castelnau in Barnes.
A four metre hole opened up at the weekend, causing the road to be closed in both directions for emergency repair work.
The road was re-opened today under two-way traffic controls, meaning problems could well continue on both sides of Hammersmith Bridge for some time. Drivers have been warned to expect delays as the works continue for three weeks.
This morning, Mark Oliver tweeted: "Queuing at 7am on Lonsdale road past leg omutton res down to barnes high st due to #castelnau hole. Solid traffic."
