A thief has been jailed for stealing large quantities of meat from supermarkets.
Omar Ali Mohamed, of Great Guildford Street, London, was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Friday, October 18, for stealing more than £230 of meat from two supermarkets in a six day period.
Mohamed stole £93 worth of meat from Tesco, Sheen Lane, East Sheen, on July 29 and later stole £145.45 of meat from Little Waitrose, The Pavement, Clapham, on August 3.
He pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced to 20 weeks for the East Sheen offence and 20 weeks, to run concurrently, for the Clapham offence.
A victim surcharge fee was waived by the court.
