A burglar from Kew who breached the conditions of his licence has been recalled to prison.

Anthony Chieke, 45, was released from prison on July 9 after serving a three-and-a-half year sentence for a string of mosque burglaries.

Police are appealing for the public to help trace the 45-year-old who was last residing at a hostel in Kew.

PC Dave Simms, from Richmond police, said: "We have carried out extensive enquiries to try and locate Anthony Chieke, but so far, these have been unsuccessful so we are now appealing to members of the public to assist us.

"If anyone knows his whereabouts or has any information then please contact Richmond police.

"Anthony Chieke is also known as Abraham or Ibrahim Jakobovisicheke.

"He is known to frequent different parts of the country and has no known address but he most recently spent time in Devon and Cornwall.

"He is very distinctive looking and sounding.

"He is 6ft 7in, slim with dark hair, balding on top and he has a small bump on the right side of his head."

He was jailed on May 16, 2013, at Plymouth Crown Court after admitting 12 mosque burglaries as well as fraud and going equipped to steal.
