A Twickenham man was fined and hit with a community order after smashing the door of a taxi in Barnes.

Luke Sidwell, 24, of Wellesley Road, caused more than £1,840 of damage to the door of a taxi owned by Reza Asgar-Pour on December 1 last year.

He was also sentenced for one count of using threatening, abusive or insulting language toward Mr Asgar-Pour at Castlenau.

Appearing at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on August 20, where he changed his plea to guilty on both counts, Sidwell was fined £610.

He also received a community order for each crime to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.
