Volunteers and contributors to a World War I exhibition have been thanked by the curator of the Museum of Richmond.

Researchers and community groups carried out and interpreted new research into how the Great War affected the borough, for the exhibition displayed in the centenary of the outbreak of the war.

To see their hard work on display, volunteer researchers were invited to a private viewing at the museum on Wednesday, August 13.

Among the displays is a file containing research on 100 men from Richmond, Mortlake and East Sheen who fought in the war, with a map of the area showing where they lived.

Private artefacts, photographs, letters and reminiscences from resident also form part of the exhibition.
